Hi there! I’m Sadaf Azhar, a food scientist, a proud mom, and a passionate advocate for food innovation, sustainable living, and personal growth. I’m currently pursuing my PhD in Food Science and Technology at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

My Journey: From Pakistan to Kansas

My journey into the world of food science began long before I arrived in the United States. With a Bachelor’s in Food Science and Technology from Bahauddin Zakariya University in Multan, Pakistan, I found my passion for food science through exploring the intricate ways food shapes our culture, health, and environment.

The turning point came when I was selected for the Global UGRAD Program, which brought me to Kansas State University for a transformative semester. That experience not only broadened my academic horizon but also shaped my personal life in ways I never imagined. I then went on to complete my Master’s in Food Science and Technology, where I delved deeper into food research and product development, all while embracing the challenges of motherhood.

Balancing Motherhood and Professional Growth

During my time as a graduate student, I was blessed with the arrival of my baby boy. Navigating the demands of being a new mother while striving for academic excellence and advancing my career has been incredibly fulfilling, yet demanding. Juggling sleepless nights, research deadlines, and the needs of my family taught me invaluable lessons in resilience, time management, and self-compassion.

It is this very experience that inspires me to share my personal journey here at HealthyBiteLab. I want to show others—especially mothers, students, and professionals—that it’s possible to thrive in both your personal and professional life.
